Ontheline™ and Friendswith™ are generational transformations in communications and digital lifestyle, fixing what Big Tech has damaged and returning the power of the Internet to the People. We're creating a safe, secure, and Section 230 compliant platform where:

  • Freedom of speech is sacrosanct
  • Unrivaled consumer privacy protects your data; in fact, we never sell your data and you own it
  • Self-moderation empowers people to see what they want, not what some unknown person in a Big Tech office complex think is appropriate
  • Billions of people can manage their Real life, Ontheline™.
  • Parents can trust our kids site, friendswith™, as a safe space for children, where kids can enjoy being kids, away from sexual predators and violence
  • Authenticity diminishes bullying, the spread of fake news, and protects against human trafficking. That's right, every member is authentic and real
  • Our first-of-its-kind Ownership Society™ lets every member share in the company’s profits, creating millions of “owners” intent on keeping “their” service safe and fulfilling

Authenticity, personal choice, privacy, safety, and sharing of profits is what the Internet should represent. To date, it hasn't, but it soon will.

BIG TECH HAS SERIOUS PROBLEMS

REAL PEOPLE, PRIVACY, AND PROFIT SHARING

A SAFE & TRUSTED PLACE FOR EVERYONE

Google, Apple, Meta, and Twitter are Big Tech’s gatekeepers to digital information and communications.

 All are under pressure for censorship; limiting free expression based on political or religious beliefs; banning elected political figures from their platforms without explanation; and, disclosing and selling personally identifiable information.

 Big Tech’s rush to grab advertising dollars at the expense of consumers is dangerous. Social media is besieged by rampant human slavery, sex trafficking, and foreign influence. Facebook’s internal research proves their Instagram service is harmful to young girls. And, they've been caught giving some users different privileges than the majority—clearly not a democratic move.

 Greed and failure to operate under policies in the spirit of Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act are damaging the welfare and well-being of billions of consumers.

 It’s time to show them how to provide a platform that benefits humanity.

  Back in 1996, members of our leadership team helped launch Lycos.com, one of the first non-censored search engines, along with social media sites Angelfire and Tripod, and GeoCities (now Yahoo!). The team immediately saw issues with the power anonymous programmers in back rooms had over what content would be delivered to you. With a simple change of an algorithm (a process or set of rules to be followed in calculations or other problem-solving operations), a tech firm could determine if a site like ABC.com, Disney.com, WebMD.com, NFL.com, or SocialSecurity.gov appears in the top search results. The algorithm could be used to limit a person's access to quality content in favor of advertiser-supported content. Even worse, algorithms could be tweaked to bury content that a site operator didn't like, even if that content was valuable to the end user.

CENSORSHIP & OUR SOLUTION

REAL PEOPLE, PRIVACY, AND PROFIT SHARING

REAL PEOPLE, PRIVACY, AND PROFIT SHARING

We have all witnessed censorship. Some faceless and nameless "moderator" censors content they don't deem appropriate:

  • Twitter taking down medical information presented by Dr. Drew Pinsky
  • Facebook banning former President Donald J. Trump
  • Musician Joy Villa's YouTube videos
  • Dana Loesch being banned for speaking up for Constitutional rights,

We have all witnessed censorship. Some faceless and nameless "moderator" censors content they don't deem appropriate:

  • Twitter taking down medical information presented by Dr. Drew Pinsky
  • Facebook banning former President Donald J. Trump
  • Musician Joy Villa's YouTube videos
  • Dana Loesch being banned for speaking up for Constitutional rights, or
  • Alphabet's "changes" to Google and YouTube algorithms that limit or censor the content of tens of thousands of users, political candidates, and social media influencers.

The list goes on and on.

 In the United States, the Constitution's 1st Amendment specifically protects YOU from the government punishing, censoring or oppressing YOUR speech. However, it does not apply to private organizations like the popular social media companies. Therefore, freedom of speech does not guarantee your right to use a commercial entity like Twitter or Facebook as you see fit. Your behavior must adhere to the platform’s published guidelines, or they have every right to censor or ban you. The problem is none of these companies make their guidelines easily understood; they seem to change the rules at their whim and fancy; and trying to reach a live person to understand why you were suspended or a post was censored is nearly impossible. While it’s not unconstitutional, if private platforms outright ban certain types of protected speech, it sets an uncomfortable precedent for the values of free speech.

 We're solving the issues that Big Tech has created. Our platform, which will launch in 2022, has been in development to empower interaction and communications through digital means; to create greater privacy for individuals while connecting them with what is important to them; flipping the censorship model Facebook, Twitter and YouTube have foisted on consumers to give YOU control over what YOU see; and, most importantly, helping you live better.

 We call this purpose "Real life, Ontheline™" because our goal is to allow you to do online what you do in real life--that means you know who you are talking to, you interact the way you do day-to-day, you decide what is best for what you need from the platform. Just as importantly, you benefit financially from using the platform. That's a big change and it's largely possible because our founders and management team understand and appreciate the content you create. Why shouldn't you share in the site's profits? Big Tech greed thinks you shouldn't. We think you should.

 We're democratizing content for over 3 billion people who live in 24 countries that provide freedom of expression to their citizens.

 We're putting the power of moderation/censorship in YOUR hands, while upholding the laws of each nation in which we operate, including those that govern hate speech; and by working within the guidelines of Section 230 of the Communication Decency Act to ensure free speech.

 Since August 1998, the Common Law Trademarks Rights of Interminds, Ontheline, and Friendswith have been held under the auspices of this project, building the tools and creating the means for billions of people to speak, share, inform and inspire.  We built advertising tools that put the power of advertising into the hands of the consumer, not Big Tech or advertisers. We've built platform tools that enable our members to strip out annoyances most Big Tech companies continue to allow to proliferate, whether hate speech, profanity, or bad faith from foreign actors.   We've focused our resources, including millions of dollars in research development to prepare for the right time to launch.

That time is soon. Very soon.

Online anonymity has proven unsuccessful. For all its potential, the anonymity of the Internet has proven to be a difficult issue when it relates to bullying, fake accounts, the messaging of inappropriate content such as pornographic photos, the expansion of child sex and modern day slavery, and the rudeness and lack of decorum on many sites and apps, because people who post anonymously often feel they are immune the the actions they take. As one focus group participant told us, "When I'm on facebook, Twitter or Instagram, I'm sitting with my phone and I'm 9 feet tall and bulletproof. I can say stuff I wouldn't dare say in front of the person."

  Our platform’s enhanced privacy begins with changing the focus from anonymity to one of authentication. By authenticating our members, we eliminate multiple duplicate accounts, foreign interference, stalking, and reduce incidences of bullying, threats, and social ostracizing. We also identify sexual predators and can alert you if one attempts to connect or communicate with you.

 We reduce disinformation by ensuring content that is raised as objectionable can be traced back to the originator in order to understand why it was posted, where the data came from, and whether the poster is a real user or a software bot. While technology can be utilized to identify things like "fake news," it's the real person interaction that we address that helps create a more harmonious community. For example, our policy is to never ban anyone from membership. We may limit a person's ability to post if they are found to repeatedly violate the community's standards -- such as advocating hate speech -- but we won't ban them. We simply reduce or cease their ability to post. They can still read all they want, but they won't be able to post. We found 97% of people agree with this approach. The other 3%? They tend to be the people creating problematic posts.

WE VIEW IT LIKE THIS

Our company's goal is to provide you the best tools for socializing, communicating, sharing, learning, and staying informed. We operate like Switzerland. Swiss neutrality is one of the main principles of Switzerland's foreign policy which dictates that Switzerland is not to be involved in armed or political conflicts between other states. This policy is self-imposed, permanent, and designed to ensure security and promote peace.

 In our platform, the Trump family would be welcome as members; just as Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, AOC or any person from the opposite side of the political spectrum is welcome. We don't take a political view. We don't take a stand on controversial issues. Instead, we allow YOU to control the narrative while giving you access to alternative viewpoints, at your choosing.

 Coupled with easy-to-use tools such as self-moderation, our adherence to federal laws where we operate and the approach we are taking to members who are so-called troublemakers, is unique and well thought out. As previously mentioned, our intent is not to block anyone from having an account, but to halt serial offenders of hate speech or other illegal activities from posting. These people, which will be a very small percentage of users because of authentication, can still read, watch videos, and obtain information; but they will not be able to interact through posting of content or commenting on content if they continuously engage in hate speech or illegal activities.

 In short, we don’t want to block anyone from being a member, but we will provide a safe haven for those that feel they are attacked.

  Add to this the fact that Ontheline shares profits with our members and you have a recipe that solves the many issues Big Tech has created. To learn more about profit sharing, scroll down.

We're a new kind of technology company

We share the profits

 BIG TECH IS MAKING BILLIONS OF DOLLARS OFF THE CONTENT YOU CREATE AND SHARE.

Let's see...you invite your friends; you create content; you share content; you participate...so why are a bunch of guys in Silicon Valley getting rich off your efforts? Yep, we don't think it's right, either. That's why every member of Ontheline shares in the annual profits of the company. You read that right. We give back to the people who use Ontheline. Why? Because it is fair and it's the morally correct thing to do.

 We call it Ownership Society™ and it's our way of creating a profit sharing plan for every single one of you. As our CEO, Bill Townsend, says, "The Internet has the power to level the playing field: It did back in 1995 and it does today, but only if we share with the people who make us successful. This means we must give back and the best way to give back is cold, hard cash."  We believe you're going to like this new approach.

We operate differently

 WE'RE BUILDING A NEW KIND OF COMPANY

  Are you tired of senior executives being paid millions of dollars while the people who make up the backbone of a company struggle financially? We are, too. Therefore, no employee is paid a salary more than 20X the average salary of all employees. This includes salary and commissions. It applies to everyone, including the CEO. While our average salary is over $70,000 a year, our lowest starting salary is $18 per hour, far above the US federal minimum wage and above the livable wage rate. Why? Because financially secure employees equal happy employees and happy employees equal great customer service.

  We give back in the communities where we live.

  As a Company, we don’t donate to charitable causes, instead giving our employees the ability to directly assist charities of their choice. Every employee is required to work five days each year for a charity of their choice and these days are paid by the Company.

We believe family is important and that’s why we have flexible work schedules including 3-days, 4-days and 5-days work weeks.  We provide up to 90 days paid leave for the birth or adoption of a child in a unique program that supports the new parents while also supporting the employees who pick up the work from those who are on leave. We offer great benefits like health insurance, dental and vision insurance, 401k plan, personal days and flexible vacation policies, and free tax preparation. To top it off, we give every employee options to own stock in the company, so whether they’re a Vice President or a janitor, they are owners in Ontheline.

  We hire differently.

  We want people who are dedicated to changing the world for the better and we seek to hire people from all walks of life. We are also aware that a person’s name, address, or gender or age is sometimes used discriminatory, even if it is illegal to do so; therefore, when people apply to work for Ontheline, we strip their name, address, gender, and age from résumés so each resume is evaluated on their merits. It’s the fairest means to give every candidate an equal opportunity.

A simple promise: We won't sell your data.

 YOUR PRIVACY IS CRITICALLY IMPORTANT IN THIS DAY AND AGE

As long-time executives in the Internet industry, and early advocates for privacy and children's advertising guidelines, we believe firmly that privacy is a growing concern for billions of people. Our nearly $2 million in consumer research proves it with 92% of you saying that privacy is a top concern.

When you become a member of our platform, you can rest assured your personal data will not be sold to advertisers nor be made available for public view unless you say so.

Unlike apps that share your data with unknown-to-you third-party app developers or big data firms: for instance, Twitter makes millions of dollars by selling and licensing your personal data, and facebook connect and the apps they allow on their site collect more data than you can imagine, we don't and we won't.

Our platform is advertiser and e-commerce supported, but as a member, you'll have the ability to opt-out of advertising. Our patented advertising system means we never have to sell personally identifiable data to big brands, in fact, we flip the model so YOU decide when to open a line of communications with an advertiser.  That's called returning power to the people!

Holding advertisers accountable

ADVERTISERS NEED TO STEP UP THEIR GAME TO BE ON OUR PLATFORM

Unlike many websites and social media operators, we require advertisers to adhere to many of the same standards that television networks require:  Our ongoing goal is to create and present advertising that is truthful, substantiated, in good public taste, and not misleading. Our Advertiser Policies and Guidelines are designed to help educate advertisers about the rules and norms for creating and distributing advertising content.  For example, brands that wish to advertise dietary nutritional supplements must provide us with the research behind their product claims. If they can't, we don't allow them to run ads. We know of no other social media or e-commerce site that requires this to protect their members.

WE WOULDN'T RUN AN AD FOR SOMETHING WE WOULDN'T FEEL WAS TRUTHFUL

We also require companies selling products to clearly state in their ads or landing pages where the product is manufactured. Why? 73% of the people we surveyed said they want this. These extra steps in authenticating the advertiser's message will help insure members are not cheated and are buying what they expect. In addition, we understand that most consumers have had a bad experience with a product or brand and we give each member the ability to block ads from up to 5 products or brands, with the ability to access additional blocking. Yes, you read that correctly, we make it possible for YOU to not see ads from companies you don't like.  By the way, this  can include not seeing political ads, too.

WE EXTEND THIS BEYOND ADVERTISERS

Every member has the ability to limit the kind of content they receive. Perhaps you're not a fan of a certain Member of Congress, celebrity, or an ex-spouse: you'll never have to see posts that mention their name. At the same time, if you love someone, will make sure you get to see every one of her posts. That's correct, unlike a certain popular social media site, if you connect with someone, we won't limit what you see. We believe that if you want to connect with someone, you probably want to see all their posts so YOU can decided what is important to you.

You see, we believe that YOU should decide what you want to see and when you do decide, you should be able to see everything. That's what real life is about, yet Big Tech continues to write algorithms and employ thousands of so-called "fact checkers" to prevent you from seeing what you want. This kind of censorship ends with our platform and over 64% of you believe this censorship should be up to the individual. This is why we have created outstanding self-moderation tools so you can choose what you want to see...and what you don't want to see. It's a whole new way of access information online and we believe you're going to love it.

American owned. Swiss inspired. Member focused.

Our approach to serving you

Switzerland is often cited as a model of independence.  While none of our senior executive team is from Switzerland (we're all American citizens), we honor that country's tradition of neutrality and couple it with America's tradition of freedoms based in our Constitution. We believe in this approach so much, we created our corporate logo in Switzerland red and USA blue.

 We're incorporated in the State of Nevada to provide Internet services including publishing and broadcasting and search portals via digital, wireless and/or wired networks. While headquarters are in Las Vegas, we have offices and employees in seven other states and believe this will only grow as we open the platform to 24 nations. 190 countries are recognized by the United Nations, but only 24 offer their citizens a great deal of freedom of expression, so that's where we'll operate. We don't need to be like Big Tech and conquer the world; we just need to be a little bit better at what we do for the 3 billion people in these 24 countries.

WHAT WE'RE BUILDING FOR YOU

 This platform combines the most used features of social media, search, and information exchange with a technology architecture that enables you to self-select and automatically-segment groups, companies, organizations, people, in ways that mimic the real-world. Relationships are recognized, built, and maintained online and offline, and the platform we're bringing to you does just this. We let you create a personal account and a business account and segment your contacts in a myriad of ways because in real life, we don't just have 100 people we know, we have family members, close friends, people we consider social friends, coworkers, people we interact within our communities like teachers and the check out person at our grocery store, and friends whom we meet online. They're all different and we recognize that.

 We're confident we possess the skills, knowledge, and technologies to build and operate the next great social communications platform. Our experience includes:

  - Creating the search engine Lycos and its international properties;

  - Home page pioneer GeoCities (now owned by Yahoo!);

  - Home page services including Tripod and Angelfire;

  - Connection engine sixdegrees, which became the intellectual property behind LinkedIn;

  - Discussion powerhouse Deja (now owned by eBay and Google);

  - Team members with social media experience with Facebook, Snap, Amazon, Twitter, ByteDance (TikTok), Friendster, WWE, and Zappos;

  - Advertising technology innovator StorNetworks;

  - Biometric security leader StoneLock;

  - Secure online access service TrueMe;

   - People involved in setting advertising and privacy standards; and,

  - the author of the Internet's first Children's Advertising Guidelines.

WE'RE NOT YOUR TYPICAL BIG TECH FIRM

 We were not founded by a couple 20 year olds in their bedroom or garage (no offense to young entrepreneurs: we were there once, too). Our two founders are in their 50's. Our CEO spent the past 25 years building tech and consumer goods companies. For 20 years, our Chairman's has run a company developing advanced technologies for our nation's defense and energy sectors. Both became frustrated with the direction of Big Tech and the abuse of their power. While we have been quietly building great tools, like delivering true 4K video content to phones; boring but needed data compression systems; consumer privacy tools; and much more, it wasn't until one of the founders posted a photo of the President awarding a Purple Heart to a member of our military that was deemed "offensive" by Facebook, now called Meta, that we looked at each other and said, "It's time."

 Our team has extensive experience in federal privacy initiatives, the Internet Advertising Bureau, online advertising, technology development, and information distribution platforms worldwide, which gives us visibility into what Big Tech has done right and what they’ve gotten wrong. We planned for this type of opportunity back in 1998, when at our former companies CommonPlaces, LLC and sixdegrees.com, we developed an online learning and community platform combining the best of search, social, and education for colleges and universities in the United States and colleges, universities, and elementary and secondary schools abroad. We were 10 years ahead of the world so we shelved several ideas for later resurrection and continued development of others, until such time a new approach to digital lifestyle communities could be brought to the masses. The team believes this is that time.

 Our team prefers to not refer to our initiative as “social media” due to the negative connotations of the term and potential changes in 47 U.S.C. § 230, a Provision of the Communication Decency Act, expected due to recent negative actions of Big Tech. We consider our platform a communications platform first and foremost, that has a social component because real life includes a social component. But "social media" has always been a term we have abhorred. First, it's not media in the traditional sense of the world. Media has tended to represent the news, magazines, TV, radio and the like. Second, the idea that because you are part of one of these sites you are social is not accurate. Many people want a service that gives them news, updates from family, good deals from advertisers, privacy, and the ability to share what they do or are into. We don't consider that "social," we consider that LIFE.

WE'RE OUT TO PROVE SECTION 230 WORKS

 CDA 230 is a law that states “No provider or user of an interactive computer service shall be treated as the publisher or speaker of any information provided by another information content provider”. In other words, online intermediaries that host or republish speech are protected against a range of laws that might otherwise be used to hold them legally responsible for what others say and do. The protected intermediaries include not only regular Internet Service Providers (ISPs), but also a range of "interactive computer service providers," including basically any online service that publishes third-party content. Though there are important exceptions for certain criminal and intellectual property-based claims, CDA 230 creates a broad protection that has allowed innovation and free speech online to flourish.

 We believe that if you are a provider and you moderate/censor, you should no longer be afforded protections under CDA 230. You can't say, "we censor people who think this, but we are protected by CDA 230." That's like saying, we had sex, you're pregnant, but you can't hold me responsible. It's ludicrous and Big Tech has gotten away with it for years.  Our platform, incorporating Ontheline™ and Friendswith™, adhere to the original intent of CDA 230 and will show the world how it can be used in a positive manner for information exchange, communications, and uplifting of communities.

This platform has been designed from the ground up to be the first neutral internet service provider that puts the power of moderation and censorship in the hands of the consumer, where it belongs.
